How to Play Cookie Tap

When you first launch the game, you’ll see a giant cookie in the middle of the screen. Tap or click on it to start baking cookies. Each tap earns you one cookie.

You’ll see the number at the top of the screen rise with each click, along with how many cookies you earn per second. The faster you tap, the faster you grow.

Buy Tappers

Once you’ve got a few dozen cookies, check the icons at the bottom of the screen. These are your upgrade options, starting with the Cookie Tapper. Click the hand icon to buy your first upgrade. It makes every tap twice as powerful, so you earn more cookies per click.

Hire Cookie Grandmas

After earning enough cookies (around 100), you can hire your first Cookie Grandma. Grandmas bake cookies automatically, even when you’re not tapping. It’s your first step into automation and you’ll notice your “cookies per second” number rise right away.

Build a Cookie Farm

Next, unlock the Cookie Farm. Farms produce a steady stream of cookies every second. Each one adds to your passive income, so you can take short breaks without losing progress. Upgrade your farms to increase production and efficiency.

Open the Cookie Factory

Once you’ve made some serious dough, invest in a Cookie Factory. These powerhouses produce hundreds of cookies per second. Each factory upgrade multiplies your income even more. Factories are expensive, but totally worth it once your cookie count explodes.

Keep Upgrading

Each building and helper can be upgraded multiple times. Upgrading increases the “multiplier,” which doubles or triples your production each time. For example, a tapper upgrade might double your tap efficiency from x1 to x2, then x4, then x8!

Balance Manual and Idle Play

Try to keep a good balance between tapping and upgrading automatic producers like grandmas, farms, and factories. Early in the game, tapping gives you quick progress. Later on, your buildings take over and generate millions while you relax.

Earn While You’re Away

The game keeps track of your idle time. If you close the game and come back later, it automatically calculates how many cookies your factories and grandmas baked while you were gone. You’ll come back to a pile of cookies waiting for you!
